Recovery Timeline After Fibroblasting: What to Expect
Recovery Timeline After Fibroblasting
If you’ve been researching fibroblasting as a non-surgical option for lifting the skin around your eyes, the next question that often comes up is: what’s the recovery actually like?
This guide walks you through what to expect after a plasma pen treatment – day by day – so you can plan ahead, feel prepared, and book with confidence. If you’re considering a fibroblasting treatment service, this article gives a clear, realistic picture of the healing process.
Day 1–2: Redness, Swelling and Early Crusting
Right after your fibroblasting session, the treated area will feel warm, and you’ll notice redness and swelling—especially around the delicate eye area. Tiny carbon crusts (small dark dots) will begin forming where the plasma pen was applied.
You might feel a mild stinging or tenderness, but it’s manageable with cold compresses and aftercare cream. We’ll walk you through all of this during your appointment at our Hornsby clinic.
Days 3–5: Tightness, Itchiness and No Picking
The carbon crusts will darken and become more visible. This is completely normal and part of the healing process.
The skin may feel tight or slightly itchy during this time, which is your body producing new collagen beneath the surface. It’s crucial not to pick or touch the dots, as this can affect results and increase the chance of pigmentation.
Stick to gentle cleansing with lukewarm water and a mild cleanser. No exfoliants, actives, or makeup.
Days 5–10: Crusts Shed, New Skin Appears
Around this stage, the crusts begin to naturally flake off on their own. You’ll start to see fresh, new skin underneath—often pink and more sensitive at first.
It’s important to keep the area hydrated and protected from the sun. Mineral SPF is ideal once the crusts have fallen away. You may still notice some residual redness or sensitivity, but the most visible part of recovery is nearly complete.
Weeks 2–4: Ongoing Tightening and Strengthening
Even after the crusting phase is over, the results are still developing. Your skin will continue to tighten and smooth over the next few weeks as collagen production kicks in.
You can usually resume makeup around the 2-week mark, provided your skin is no longer flaking or irritated. By week 4, many clients notice their eye area looks firmer, brighter and more lifted—without any surgical intervention.
